Areas You’re Neglecting During Your Skincare Routine
It’s easy to overlook certain areas during your skincare routine. Don’t worry, we’re guilty of this too 😅 We either get too tired or simply forget but in order to give our skin the best care possible, it’s important to give other parts of your body the same skincare love we give to our face! Here’s some areas you could be missing!
1. Neck
You’ve heard of this before! And chances are, you already include this while doing your skincare. But for those who don't, here's why it’s important to include your neck.
Our neck goes through the same wear and tear as our face, so it’s best to share your skincare with it! Thanks to gravity and genetics, it’s one of the first places to show aging so you’re gonna want to take care of it too.
Products like serums, moisturizers, sunscreens are the ones you’ll want to apply to your neck.
Here’s our recommendations!
2. Décolletage
Or your chest area, right below your collarbones, is another area that is often overlooked. You might not realize it but your décolletage is often exposed to the same factors that can damage your face, especially when wearing low neckline tops.
The best way to take care of it is to moisturize and apply sunscreen! If you are experiencing acne in that area, avoid harsh scrubs and use a gentle salicylic acid body wash (or even your own face wash) to help.
Psst! Body mists with calming ingredients are amazing for this too and we may or may not have something in the works 👀 stay tuned~

3. Hands
Another area that will show the first signs of aging! Our hands definitely get the brunt of our day-to-day lives as we do everything with them. Just like our décolletage, the skin on our hands is thin and also vulnerable to damaging sun exposure and environmental factors.
Though just as exposed as our faces, our hands are dryer due to lesser sebaceous glands to keep them hydrated and protected. It’s best to show them the same care we would to our face by applying a hand cream after washing and also applying sunscreen.
4. Elbows
Yes, elbows! Our elbows have the thickest layer of dead skin cells (very different from the first three mentioned) so it’s important to exfoliate and moisturize.
To exfoliate, use a gentle exfoliator with ingredients like glycolic acid or AHA. Afterwards, make sure to moisturize with products that have ceramides in it. To help keep elbow dry patches at bay, try to avoid leaning on things with your elbows. It could be hard to break but habits have to start somewhere 😉
Tip!
When sheet masking, you almost always will have extra essence on hand so make sure to use it on the mentioned parts above and anywhere else you need hydration!
That’s it for our tips! Remember that skin care is not just for the face, but for the rest of your body as well. Thanks for reading!
