FaceTory was able to chat with Youtuber Aja Dang about the collaboration and self-confidence in her lovely Los Angeles home. Check out the video below:



Belinda from FaceTory: Hi Everyone! My name is Belinda and I’m the marketing assistant at FaceTory and today we’re with the lovely Aja Dang! So exciting. She’s a YouTuber, model, blogger, actress and more. I really love your videos because you’re all about being your best self whether it is like mentally, physically, emotionally, and also financially too, which I really appreciate because a girl needs to have her budget in line. Also you’re a big advocate when it comes to women and animal rights which is amazing. We’re so excited because we are having a super special collaboration!

In this video, we’re going to be asking Aja a few questions about the collaboration, curation, and some fun questions about how she glows up.

Q&A

Belinda: What are your favorite ways to practice self-care?

Aja: I think self-care obviously beauty-wise I like to take baths because I lock the dogs out, no one talks to me, and I just relax. I like to sheet mask, obviously, it’s something that I really enjoy doing for 20-30 minutes and can do whatever I want, I’m just in the zone. But mentally as well I like to hangout with my friends, my boyfriend, and my dogs and surround myself with people who makes me happy and do things that make me happy.

Belinda: Next question, so if you were stranded a deserted island, what is your must-have product?

Aja: Sunscreen.

Belinda: YES. Especially for the skincare girls out there. We all know sunscreen is like a foundation for everything.

Aja: Yeah, I mean you may be stranded but hopefully one day you’ll be rescued looking like a raison so you have to wear that sunscreen.

Belinda: What are your favorite masks in this box?

Aja: The Meg. Mask is one of my favorite. For me what’s really important for me is just keeping my skin more moisturized and this is the moisturizing mask. I really love this one and it’s really fun.

And then of course the FaceTory, Glow Baby Glow Mask! It’s another multi-step one which of course I love and this is a brightening one so it’s for when my skin is really really dull and like, meh. Because I like to sheet mask at night, next morning when I’m just sparkly. Super glowy. And finally, this is all in the lux box by the way, when you get seven sheet masks. The Seaweed Silky Mask by 23 Years Old. I just think the texture of sheet masks for me is really important and this one is so smooth, shiny, and seaweedy and it smells luxurious. This is probably the more unique masks that I’ve ever tried and I’m really excited for you guys to try it too!

Belinda: During the curation process, what are some of the things that you’ve considered with the masks that you’ve chose?

Aja: Products that are cruelty free are really important to me. I don’t use any products that test on animals. That was the first and foremost. We also have masks in here that are vegan, but all of them are cruelty-free. I have a lot of followers who are vegan and find that important as well so I wanted to include vegan options for them in the boxes as well.  But also what I look for beauty products in general are things that are brightening and moisturizing and that gives you that natural glow from within.

Belinda: The theme for this month is “Glow Up Sis” and we’re just wondering what does that mean to you to glow up?

Aja: To me, “glow up” means physically just means, brightening and youthful looking and happy, but also inside it means glowing up from within so exuding confidence, exuding self-love and just putting all of that out into the universe.

Belinda: I personally love how you’re so real in your videos and you're so vulnerable in that you’re able to show your life whatever it is whether it is financially or mentally, your ideas about things, any tips on how you are able to stay so confident, secure in your ideas, and expressing yourself in that way?

Aja: I find that a lot of people are afraid to  share about themselves. Just because they feel like they’re going to be judged. But I just don’t have that chip in me. I don’t care what other people think, but also find that once I do share those darker secrets, things that people don’t want to share about, like finances---doing that, sharing something so important automatically gives you confidence. It gives you the sense that you’re owning your own stuff and that inherently will give you the self-confidence you need to tackle it or continue to talk about it. But also honestly turning thirty gave me an extra sense of confidence, self-awareness at least. Sense of self.

Belinda: Yeah, just do you and your you.


Aja: I find as long as you are authentically yourself, you will draw in like-minded people so that’s why I think that my YouTube community is a community of really positive people because that’s kind of the energy and the people I draw towards my channel by being myself.

Belinda: Final question, anything super special that you want to mention about this box?

Aja: Know that this has been a long process from the start: Picking out the designs, picking out the sheet mask, doing everything from start to finish. We’ve taken a lot of time and thought into the box and kit so we just hope that you enjoy it because it’s full of our love.
