The Double Cleansing Method
If you haven’t heard of double cleansing yet, it’s high-key time to start incorporating this in your skincare routine. Double cleansing is great way to ensure that you’re deeply cleansing your skin after a long day. Wether you wear makeup or just sunscreen, double cleansing is a must to prevent breakouts, clogged pores, and irritation.
Ways to Double Cleanse
Two types of products come to mind when people double cleanse. You can either use a cleansing balm or a cleansing oil. Depending on your preference and skin type, you can choose either one as your first cleansing step.
Cleansing balms are thicker in consistency and usually come in a jar with a spatula for ease of use. To use this, you would scoop out the balm, warm it in your hands, and massage it onto your skin. The thicker consistency is great for removing heavier makeup or even those who have drier skin types. Rinse it off with water and watch it emulsify~
Cleansing oils are not to be feared by those with oily skin! They are lighter in consistency and come in a pump bottle. Massage this on a dry face and watch it break down pore build-up and makeup.
TIP 💡
- Both cleansing oils and balms need to be applied on dry skin so they can work their magic~
- Massage on the face for at least 60 seconds to remove deep-seated dirt and oil from your pores.
After you rinse off your oil cleanser, you can use the Urban Calm Gel Cleanser as your second cleanse. With its fermented ingredients and LHA, you're guaranteed to remove any residue from your pores and your skin is ready for the rest of your skincare routine.
We hope you gained insight into this cleansing practice! Time to try it out for yourself.
